“Sandra Oman owns the stage whenever she is on it”

In September 2015, Sandra launched her debut solo album LIBERTY at a sold-out launch at the National Concert Hall, Dublin. The album quickly shot to Number One in the iTunes Vocal Album Charts and, most unusually for a classical artist, went to Number 4 in the Top Album Charts, only to be surpassed by Adele, Justin Bieber and One Direction! On the back of this success, Sandra released her second album, a Christmas compilation entitled NOËL, in October 2016. She once again played to a capacity audience on her launch night and the album went immediately to not only Number One in the iTunes Vocal Album Chart, but this time to Number Two in the Top Album Charts, ahead of Little Mix, Bruno Mars and Emelie Sandé. She has appeared on The Late Late Show, Live at Three, Today with Maura and Dáithí and frequently on radio broadcasts.
In the field of Sacred Music, she has sung as Soprano Soloist with virtually all of Ireland’s major choral societies, including Dublin County Choir, Culwich Choral Society, Goethe Institue Choir, Guinness Choir, Bray Choral Society, Lassus Scholars, East Cork Choral Society, and Tallaght Choral Society, in works ranging from Bach through Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Rossini, Verdi and Fauré to John Rutter.
In the field of classical crossover, Sandra has performed as guest artist with The Celtic Tenors, at the National Concert Hall, Dublin, University Concert Hall, Limerick, Cork Opera House and also in the National Opera House, Riga, Latvia. She was the soprano soloist in the hugely successful South African Ballet Company’s Queen at the Ballet, a ballet spectacular to the music of the legendary Rock band, which ran for two weeks at The O2, Dublin. Over the last ten years, she has toured Ireland with the highly successful Mario Lanza tribute The Loveliest Night of the Year, hailed by Lanza’s daughter, Elissa as “the greatest tribute to my father that I have seen”. She was also the guest artist of British television presenter Aled Jones, and Irish Showband legend, Red Hurley, for a week-long run of How Great Thou Art, at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin.
Sandra Oman was the 2004 recipient of the Margaret Burke Sheridan Memorial Award for excellence in the field of opera. Born in the heart of the Liberties, Dublin, this Number One Selling Recording Artist graduated from the DIT Conservatory of Music, Dublin with the Ely O’Carroll Gold Medal, the Conservatory’s highest award. Since then, she studied with the legendary La Scala soprano, Graziella Sciutti, in London and her husband, acclaimed vocal coach Conor Farren. In 2021 Sandra will commence Doctoral studies at TU Dublin Conservatory of Music and Drama and is currently completing a Music Masters (Perf.) at the Conservatory.
